Paschim Pune Bangiya Parishad (PPBP)

Circa 2004… 8 Bhadro Lok having a “ghoroa adda”, talking about the cultural needs of Bengali folks living in Western Pune and, lo and behold, Paschim Pune Bangiya Parishad (PPBP) was born! They conceptualized PPBP as a non-profit socio-cultural organization, that would bring the essence of Bangaliyana - nurturing and promoting Bengali culture, language, and heritage.

PPBP seeks to promote a harmonious blend of our diverse culture and rich values with today's hi-tech, fast-paced life, so that the new generations will in touch with our immensely vibrant heritage and culture.

Now in its 19 year of inception, PPBP has become synonymous with promoting harmony and integration through cultural and social activities & has gained respect in the Pune Bengali community as a Parishad that whole-heartedly welcomes all those who have keen interest in the language, literature, culture and heritage of Bengal. The very essence of PPBP ethos is the rich diversity in the members who come together with a deep and intense feeling of belongness and togetherness.

CORE VALUES

What is the true sense of a community? It's the feeling of belongingness, of togetherness, and of security. It's the coming together of people based on shared thoughts, values, and ideals. A community is one where every person holds equal status and supports one another through the highs and lows of life. Paschim Pune Bangiya Parishad isn't merely an organisation. It's a community!

It's where people, who are deeply rooted in their culture, faith, and backgrounds have been brought together partly by geography and mostly by destiny. PPBP is like a close-knit family; one where every member is treated with love and respect, regardless of their financial, professional, educational, political or social status.

It's only fair to assume that where there's community, there's celebration. At PPBP, we celebrate festivals and cultural activities with gusto and passion.

Our mission is to create a community of socially mindful and culturally connected people…

Uphold cultural heritage - PPBP aims to promote an appreciation of our cultural diversity and uphold our heritage inheritance. PPBP believes in spreading the joy of festivities, be it Bengali festivals or festivals from other cultures.

Support social causes - PPBP believes that Seva Bhavna is the ultimate humane gesture and aims to partner with recognized relief organizations during natural calamities, either by volunteering or by giving financial aid.

Recognize in-house talent - PPBP believes in appreciating the talents of its members and providing a platform for showcasing their uniqueness.

Fair and ethical conduct - At PPBP, we believe in setting a high standard of fair and ethical conduct, while safeguarding everyone's voice in a democratic manner.
